Origins of the name
We are often asked about the origin of our name, Plimhimmon. We are glad to share its history, both because we think it's a wonderful story, and because it reinforces the firm's core values.
The founder's late father was an accomplished sailor. Every year, at the conclusion of the sailing season, a banquet was held on the Plimhimmon farm outside Oxford, Maryland. His father won more than his share of trophies at Plimhimmon, but more importantly Plimhimmon came to be a symbol of time well spent with his wife, his children, and his friends. He asked to be buried in the Oxford cemetery, on a beautiful plot overlooking the Tred Avon River, and his beloved Plimhimmon.
The founder chose the name as a monument to his late father, and his legacy of faith, virtue, and honor.
